Not sure if your chimney is safe to use? A professional inspection answers that with certainty — not guesswork. We run HD CCTV camera diagnostics through the full flue, so you see exactly what's inside and receive a signed compliance certificate documenting the condition.

Whether you're buying a property, renewing your home insurance, managing a strata building, or simply haven't had your chimney checked in years — a CCTV inspection gives you a clear picture and a written record. We assess the chimney externally, inspect the firebox and flue internally, run a high-definition camera the full length of the flue, then issue a detailed report and a signed compliance certificate.
What you get
Four stages, from the outside in — finishing with documentation you can hand to an insurer, solicitor, or strata manager.
We start from the outside — assessing the chimney stack, crown, cap, and flashing from ground level (or roof level where safe access allows). We're looking for cracks, missing mortar, damp staining, leaning, or structural movement.
Inside the home, we inspect the firebox, damper, smoke chamber, and visible flue lining — checking for cracks, deterioration, creosote buildup, signs of water penetration, and any obstructions.
We insert a high-definition camera into the flue and capture the entire lining from firebox to chimney top — revealing hidden cracks, the stage of creosote buildup, blockages, and mortar deterioration. You see the footage in real time.
You receive a detailed report with photos: an overall condition rating (safe to use / needs repair / do not use), specific issues, recommended actions, and a signed compliance certificate suitable for insurance, property transactions, and strata compliance.
When to book
Six situations where a CCTV inspection is the sensible call — before a problem becomes a hazard or an unexpected cost.
Just bought a home with a fireplace and don't know when it was last serviced? Don't light a fire until it's inspected — a blocked or damaged flue can push carbon monoxide into the home from the very first use.
Standard building inspections rarely include a detailed chimney assessment. Our pre-purchase report can be added to your solicitor's or conveyancer's due-diligence file before settlement.
Some home insurance policies require evidence that your chimney is maintained and safe to operate. Our signed compliance certificate gives insurers the documentation they need.
Buildings and heritage conversions with shared chimneys have specific maintenance obligations. We provide inspection reports formatted for strata records and can service multiple units in one visit.
Storms, heavy rain, and high winds can damage crowns, dislodge caps, and crack mortar joints. If your chimney is exposed after a weather event, inspect before the next use.
Even with a yearly sweep, a periodic CCTV inspection (every 2–3 years) catches what a visual sweep can't — hairline cracks in the flue lining and early-stage mortar deterioration.
Beyond what the eye can see
A visual check from the firebox can only see so far up the flue. Many chimney problems — cracked liners, hidden blockages, internal damp — happen in the middle and upper sections that are invisible from below. Our camera travels the full length and records everything. Most Sydney providers don't offer CCTV inspection; our diagnostics go further.

Some insurers require evidence of chimney maintenance. Our signed compliance certificate documents the inspection date, the condition assessed, and any actions taken.
A sweep removes soot and creosote. An inspection diagnoses the condition of the chimney structure, flue lining, and components. We recommend both — a sweep keeps the chimney clean, an inspection confirms it's structurally sound.
