In short: a split system deep clean in Sydney is $249 + GST, a ducted system starts from $350 + GST, an outdoor condenser unit is $149 + GST, and an exhaust fan clean is $150 + GST. The price is fixed and confirmed before the job starts, so there is nothing to settle on the day.
Aircon cleaning prices in Sydney
| Service | Price |
|---|---|
| Split system deep clean | $249 + GST |
| Ducted system deep clean | From $350 + GST |
| Outdoor condenser unit clean | $149 + GST |
| Exhaust fan clean | $150 + GST |
These are the prices we quote across Sydney metro. Ducted systems start from $350 because the final figure depends on how many outlets the system runs and how the return air is set up, so we confirm it before we book you in rather than after.
What you actually get for the money
A deep clean is not a wipe-over. The unit comes apart so we can reach the parts that hold the grime: the filters, the evaporator coil, the barrel fan, the drain pan and the drain line. Everything is cleaned with eco-friendly, non-toxic products, sanitised, dried and tested before we put it back together.
That matters because the mould and bacteria that cause the musty smell do not sit on the front cover. They sit on the coil and in the drain pan, where moisture collects. A surface clean leaves them exactly where they were.
Why is a ducted clean more than a split system?
A split system is one indoor unit. A ducted system is a network of ducts, outlets and a return air filter running through the roof space, so there is simply more of it to clean and more access work involved. If you have a ducted system, see our air duct cleaning page for what the job covers.
Do I need the outdoor unit done too?
Not always, but it is worth knowing what it does. The outdoor condenser collects leaves, dust and grass clippings, which makes the whole system work harder to shift heat. Plenty of customers book it at the same time as the indoor clean because it is one visit instead of two.
What is included in each clean
Every price below is for a full strip-down, not a surface wipe. This is what each one covers.
Split system deep clean
- Full removal of the indoor unit covers and filters
- Pressure wash of the evaporator coil
- Barrel fan (blower wheel) cleaned
- Anti-bacterial treatment that removes mould, bacteria and odours
- External housing and airflow components cleaned
- Performance check after reassembly
Ducted system deep clean
- Return air filter replaced
- Deep clean of the return air unit
- Return grille cleaned
- Ducts and supply outlets sanitised
- Hygiene treatment that reduces mould, bacteria and dust
- Performance and airflow check
Outdoor unit clean
- Removal of debris, leaves and dust build-up
- Pressure wash of the condenser coil
- Fan and housing cleaned
- Airflow clearance around the unit checked
- Eco-friendly degreaser
- Light lubrication of the fan motor where needed
Exhaust fan and dryer vent cleaning
- Cover and filters removed and cleaned
- Blades and internal fan housing cleaned
- Deep duct clean with a rotating brush
- Mould and dust removed
- Reassembly and operation check
What changes the price
The four figures above are the prices we quote across Sydney metro, and they are fixed before we start. Three things move the number:
- How many units. The split system price is per unit. If you have more than one, the second and any after it are discounted 20 per cent, because we are already on site with the equipment out.
- Ducted layout. A ducted clean starts from $350 + GST. The final figure depends on how many outlets the system runs and how the return air is set up, which is why we confirm it before booking rather than after.
- Condition. A unit that has not been touched in five years takes longer than one cleaned last summer. If we think a job will run over, we tell you when you call, not on the day.
Adding an exhaust fan or dryer vent to the same visit
An exhaust fan or dryer vent clean is $150 + GST as a standalone job. If we are already at your place for an aircon clean, it is $75 to $100 per unit depending on how many you want done. Same work either way, less travel to cover.
What to check before you accept a cheap quote
Quotes well under these numbers usually mean a different job. Before you book anyone, ask three questions:
- Does the unit come apart? If the barrel fan and evaporator coil are not being removed and washed, the mould and bacteria stay where they are. That is where they live, not on the front cover.
- Is the price fixed before the visit? A quote that becomes an estimate on the day is not a quote.
- Who is doing the work? We use our own technicians, not subcontractors.

Frequently asked questions
How much does it cost to clean an air conditioner in Sydney?
A split system deep clean is $249 + GST. A ducted system starts from $350 + GST, an outdoor condenser unit is $149 + GST and an exhaust fan or dryer vent clean is $150 + GST. The price is fixed and confirmed before the job starts.
Is aircon cleaning worth it?
It is worth it if the unit is more than a year past its last clean. A blocked coil and a dirty barrel fan make the system work harder for less cooling, and the mould that causes the musty smell sits in the drain pan where a surface wipe never reaches. If the unit was cleaned recently and there is no smell, it can wait.
Do you charge less for a second unit?
Yes. The split system price is per unit, and the second and any after it are discounted 20 per cent because we are already on site.
What is the difference between a deep clean and a service?
A service checks the refrigerant, electricals and operation. A deep clean takes the unit apart and washes the coil, barrel fan, drain pan and drain line, then sanitises them. They are different jobs and most homes need the clean far more often.
Do you clean the outdoor unit as well?
We can, and plenty of customers book it in the same visit. The outdoor condenser collects leaves, dust and grass clippings, which makes the whole system work harder to shift heat. On its own it is $149 + GST.
